1 Killed, 2 Hurt In Brandon Wreck

BRANDON - One person died Saturday evening in a traffic accident on Durant Road just west of Turkey Creek Road.
At 5:35 p.m., Kyle Hughes, 21, of Plant City was driving westbound on Durant Road with passenger Jeremy Smith, 20, of Valrico, when he lost control of his 2005 Mustang. Hughes' Mustang went into the eastbound lane where he was struck by a 2000 Dodge Dakota driven by Harrell Buckner Jr., 50, of Plant City.
Both Hughes and Buckner were airlifted to Tampa General Hospital where Hughes is in critical condition and Buckner is stable. Smith died at the scene.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating the accident.
