A single-vehicle accident on Interstate 275 in Pinellas County just before 5 a.m. today left the 35-year-old driver dead.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Marcus L. Durham was killed when his car left the road. He was the only person in the car.
The highway patrol did not have an address for Durham.
Durham was heading north on I-275 near the Roosevelt Boulevard exit when his 2002 Mazda left the highway at 4:55 a.m. It drove into the grass median separating the northbound lanes of I-275 from the Roosevelt Boulevard exit, the FHP reported.
The car continued across the median and stopped in a marsh, the highway patrol said. Durham was pronounced dead at the scene by St. Petersburg Fire Rescue.
An autopsy will determine the cause of death.
