Another Boy Accuses ROTC Instructor Of Molestation

Sarasota police say they found another victim of a Sarasota High School ROTC instructor arrested in May on charges he molested a student.

The Sarasota Police Department today charged Demetrius Busby, 45, with three counts of molestation, including lewd or lascivious exhibition.

Busby was arrested at a hotel on University Parkway on May 30 on charges he molested a 15-year-old boy. In that case, he was charged with one count of showing obscene material to a minor and two counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child, police said.

While investigating the first case, detectives found another 15-year-old boy who told police he stayed the night at Busby's house in March. While there, the boy was shown a pornographic movie, police said.

The boy told police Busby masturbated inside his pants during the movie, an arrest report stated.

In the first arrest, police said one crime occurred at Busby's house and two at the school.

He is being held without bail at the Sarasota County Jail.

The Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported Busby was in charge of the high school's Junior Reserve Officer's Training Corps since 2006. The program is geared for students seeking a career in the military.
