NAPLES - A Florida woman has filed a lawsuit against the owner of a Naples sanctuary, saying she slipped on bird poop or mud and was injured.
Patricia Nicola of Estero says in a lawsuit she was at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in Naples in December when she stepped on brown feces or mud on a damp boardwalk. That caused her to slip and fall, injuring her right shoulder.
Nicola has filed a lawsuit against the National Audubon Society, which owns the sanctuary, saying it didn't keep the boardwalk clean or warn the public about a slippery surface. The lawsuit seeks compensation for her injuries.
Nicola's attorney and a spokesman for Audubon of Florida both declined to comment because the lawsuit is pending.
