CLEARWATER Two Clearwater men died this morning after their vehicles collided at Keene and Nursery roads, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The FHP said Kevin A. Noury, 35, of Clearwater and Robert L. Snedeker, 43 died in the collision.
At 12:35 a.m., a 2004 Ford F-350 pickup driven by Snedeker was eastbound on Nursery Road and collided with a 1996 Dodge Neon driven by Noury at Keene Road, the patrol said.
It was unknown which vehicle ran the light, the patrol said.
Snedeker's pickup hit the left side of the Neon, then rotated, struck a concrete mailbox, flipped and struck a utility pole, landing on its roof, the patrol said. Snedeker, who was wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and slid, rolled or tumbled 167 feet.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, the patrol said.
The Dodge Neon was pushed into a guy wire, and Noury was ejected, too, landing on a sidewalk, the patrol said.
He was taken to Bayfront Medical Center and pronounced dead by emergency room staff.
