CLEARWATER - The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the second person killed in a wreck early Monday as Robert L. Snedeker, 43, of Clearwater.
The other person who died in the wreck at Keene and Nursery roads was Kevin A. Noury, 35, of Clearwater.
At 12:35 a.m., Snedeker was driving a 2004 Ford F-350 pickup on Nursery Road when it entered the Keene Road intersection and collided with a 1996 Dodge Neon driven by Noury, the patrol has said.
Snedeker's pickup hit the left side of the Neon, then rotated, struck a concrete mailbox, flipped and struck a utility pole, landing on its roof, the patrol said. Snedeker, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and slid, rolled or tumbled 167 feet.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, the patrol said.
The Dodge Neon was pushed into a guy wire, and Noury was ejected, too, landing on a sidewalk, the patrol said.
He was taken to Bayfront Medical Center and pronounced dead by emergency room staff.
Neither driver was wearing a seat belt; both were ejected from their respective vehicles.
It was unknown which vehicle ran the light, the patrol said.
