ST. PETERSBURG - In an attempt to identify a man who robbed a SunTrust bank on Monday, police have released surveillance images of the robbery.
The bank, at 300 First Ave. S., was robbed at 3:15 p.m., said St. Petersburg Police Department spokesman George Kajtsa.
The man walked into the bank, approached a teller and showed a note implying he had a weapon, Kajtsa said. After reading the note, the teller tucked an undisclosed amount of money into what appeared to be a makeup bag the robber provided.
He is white, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 130 to 140 pounds. He had a thin mustache and beard and light-brown wavy hair that might be worn in a ponytail.
He was wearing a dark baseball cap, aviator-style sunglasses, a dark long-sleeve jersey-style shirt, bluejeans and sneakers. He was carrying the striped white-and-purple bag of money.
