PORT RICHEY - Troopers were looking for a grayish car with damage to the driver's side after a hit-and-run crash Wednesday afternoon that left a Citrus County man in critical condition.
Nicholas Burns Jr., 22, of Beverly Hills, was riding his 2007 motorcycle north on U.S. 19 at 2:49 p.m. when a driver heading west on Bougainvillea Drive ignored a stop sign and drove into Burns' path, said Sgt. Steve Gaskins of the Florida Highway Patrol.
Instead of stopping, the driver, described by a witness as a white woman, headed south on U.S. 19.
Burns, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Gaskins said.
No specifics on his injuries were available later Wednesday.
