A fight at a Bradenton nightclub led to a shooting at a home and a search for a half-dozen people, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Kyle Wortman, 27, and Matthew Jackson, 20, fought with Jerome Richardson, 20, and about six other men as they left The Paper Moon about 2 a.m. today, deputies said.
Richardson and the other men followed Wortman and Jackson's vehicle to 4809 21st St. W. and shot at them as they stood in a carport, deputies said.
Wortman was hit twice in the lower body and crawled into the home; Jackson was not injured, the sheriff's office said.
Richardson then jumped into Jackson's car, which had been left running, and started to back out of the driveway, deputies said. Richardson told investigators somebody came out of the house and started shooting at him. One bullet pierced the windshield and grazed his head, he said. Richardson said he left the vehicle at 1800 51st Ave. W.
Richardson and Wortman were airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff's office said.
Authorities want to question the men who were with Richardson.
Charges are pending, investigators said.
