TAMPA - A 51-year-old Manatee County woman was shot during a home invasion last night, authorities said.
Two masked suspects armed with handguns forced the woman back into her home on 59th Avenue Dr. E. as she was leaving about 10:45 p.m., according to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office news release.
The woman was led to the back of the house, where the suspects confronted a 21-year-old occupant in a bedroom and demanded money. After they were handed $400, the suspects fled.
As they were running to their vehicle, one of the suspects turned and fired a single shot toward the house, grazing the woman's foot. She was treated at the scene for a non-life threatening injury.
The suspects remained at large this morning. Deputies did not provide any descriptions.
