Convention Chef Charged With DUI

TAMPA The executive chef for the Tampa Convention Center was arrested early Saturday on a charge of driving under the influence, according to a Tampa police report.

The arrest occurred at 12:50 a.m. Saturday, after Mark Joseph Sharp was stopped while he was driving east on Gandy Boulevard near Westshore Boulevard, according to the police report.

Sharp was traveling about 59 mph in a 35 mph zone, the report says. Prior to being stopped, Sharp's SUV swerved toward the curb and into the other lane twice and straddled the lane divider, the report says.

Sharp, 42, lives at 5002 Lancaster St., the report says. He posted a $500 bond Saturday.
