Knights' Simon Verbally Commits

LAND O' LAKES - After helping lead the River Ridge softball team to its first district title and regional semifinal appearance in four seasons, Royal Knights catcher Sarah Simon has verbally committed to play at Jacksonville University.

This past season, which was her junior year, Simon was voted team MVP and was a Pasco Tribune first-team all-county selection after posting a team-high 48 RBIs, a .514 batting average and a .993 fielding percentage. In 25 games, Simon also had 10 doubles and an .833 slugging percentage. She led the team with five home runs.

Simon was named to the All-Sunshine Athletic Conference team, as well as the SAC's All-Academic Team.

Simon will pursue a business degree in aviation management and flight operations.
