After getting into a verbal altercation with his 17-year-old live-in girlfriend, Jessie Antonio Dennard, 33, went on a rampage yesterday, police say, beating and kicking her to the point of unconsciousness and breaking her nose.
Dennard and his girlfriend, who was not identified by police, had been living together for about three months at 3208 E. Lindell Ave. in Tampa, according to a criminal report affidavit.
Around 9 .p.m., the two got into an argument, according to the affidavit, which offers the police version of what happened next.
The teen left the house and began walking northbound on 34th Street, near the intersection of 34th Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Dennard ran after the girl and, when he caught up to her, punched her in the face.
The teen fell to the ground.
Dennard kicked her.
She stood up.
Dennard picked her up and threw her to the ground.
The teen lost consciousness.. When she revived, she walked toward 4008 34th St., where she fell to the ground.
She had an injury to her left eye and a broken nose.
When police arrested Dennard, he said he had sex with the teen earlier that day. The teen acknowledged that.
Dennard, who is listed in jail records as a telemarketer, was charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor and felony batter domestic violence, both felonies. He is being held at the Orient Road Jail with no bond set.
