The Storm were eliminated from playoff contention with last week's 73-70 loss at San Jose. … Los Angeles snapped a four-game losing streak last week and needs a win tonight to keep its hopes alive for a playoff berth. The Avengers are tied for fourth in the American Conference standings. … This is the sixth meeting all-time between Los Angeles and Tampa Bay. The Storm lead the series 3-2. … Tampa Bay needs a win to avoid the fourth losing season in franchise history. … Tampa Bay has closed the regular season with consecutive losses only twice in franchise history (1987 and 2006). … Storm QB Brett Dietz, who threw a franchise-record 10 touchdown passes last week to give him 80 for the season, needs six touchdown passes tonight to tie the franchise single-season mark set by Shane Stafford in 2006.

Storm KR Sedrick Robinson, who became the AFL's all-time leader in kick return yardage last week, needs 21 return yards to become the fourth player in professional football history to amass 10,000 in his career. … Storm WR Lawrence Samuels, who leads the team with 110 receptions, is 13 shy of tying the franchise's single-season mark for receptions, which he set in 2005. … Tampa Bay DB Traco Rachal, who last week became just the second player in franchise history to record 100 tackles in a season, needs 11.5 tackles tonight to tie the franchise single-season record. Rachal has 102.5 tackles.
