Palm Harbor Man Charged With Exposing Himself

TAMPA - A Palm Harbor man was arrested Saturday night at Fantasy Land after he exposed himself to an undercover police officer inside the adult movie theater, an arrest affidavit said.

Carlos Augusto Jimenez, 49, of 2680 Markham Court, was charged with exposure of a sexual organ and a lewd and lascivious act, both misdemeanors.

Jimenez was sitting next to the undercover officer at the theater in Tampa's Drew Park area when he exposed himself and started masturbating, the arrest report said. Jimenez tried to get the officer's attention by looking at him and reaching over toward the officer, the arrest affidavit said.

When the officer left and went outside, Jimenez followed and he was arrested, the report said.

Jimenez was released from Orient Road Jail today after posting $750 bail.

In recent months, Tampa police have been cracking down on adult businesses in Drew Park. In May, Robert Linger, the former general manager of WTVT, Channel 13, was arrested on charges of exposing themselves and masturbating at Fantasy Land.

On May 21, Tampa criminal defense lawyer Victor Martinez was arrested at the Playhouse, 4221 N. Hubert Ave. on the same charges as Linger.

Five people were arrested June 13 on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior and exposure of sexual organs at the Playhouse and Buddy's Adult Video, 4322 W. Crest Ave., jail records show.

The Tampa City Council in May approved the use of $132,714 for the crackdown, paid for through tax-increment financing from the Drew Park Community Redevelopment Area.
