Bembaron Pockets $6,000

NEW PORT RICHEY - John Bembaron walked out of New Port Richey last weekend $6,000 richer as a result of winning the open singles division of the Cream of the Crop tournament held at Lane Glo Bowl. Bembaron was one of six bowlers who won four separate divisions of bowling.

Amanda Fagan and Jennifer Petrick captured the women's doubles title, pocketing $1,000 each. In men's doubles, Mike Roberts and Chris Collins won and split the $5,000 winnings.

In mixed doubles, Brad Angelo and Corrine Ham won the $5,000 first-place title.

KIDS CAMP: Pin Chasers in Zephyrhills is holding a bowling camp for area youngsters. Unlike some camps, young bowlers and their parents can choose which days to attend. Each day also offers a different time.

The camp, known as "Kids Camp," has morning sessions on Tuesdays and Saturdays, beginning at 10 a.m. A night schedule is available on Wednesdays at 6 p.m., Thursdays the camp offers an afternoon schedule at 3 p.m.

An addition round of weekly camps will begin the third week of July.

Each day of the camp lasts two hours and costs. For $7 each session, participants will receive free bowling lessons, complimentary use of house bowling balls and shoes. After completion of the camp there will be a party for all campers.

T-shirts and a customized drilled bowling ball are available for an additional charge. Campers may also purchase a five-week bowling pass at a reduced rate of $19.95.

TOP SCORES: Some top bowlers at Hudson Bowl in recent days: Lanny Johnson 300 (801 series), Moe Wisberg 300, Bruce Foster 299 (800 series), Ron Barnes 299, and Mike Roe 298 (821 series).

Top women bowlers were April Smyth, 299; Terrie Lance, 278; and Valerie O'Neill, 266.

SPECIAL PRICES: Pin Chasers has a special price for bowling for the month of June. Adults can bowl for $4.79 a game and receive complimentary use of bowling balls and shoes.
