TAMPA - A man wanted in a May 24 triple slaying at an Auburndale night club was arrested today in Jamaica, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said.
Davion Parson, 19, of 3116 Justine Ave. was charged today with three counts of first-degree murder after he was arrested by local authorities about 2:45 p.m. in Kingston, the sheriff's office said.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force and the U.S. Marshal's Office helped the sheriff's office find and arrest Parson, Judd said.
"I am proud of the hard work and dedication that was displayed by this team of law enforcement officers," Judd said.
Parson is accused in the slayings of two Tampa Bay area disc jockeys and another man who was with them at a May 24 show inside the Thunderbird bar.
DJ duo Antone Neely and Michael Rattigan, along with Dwight Earle, were shot inside the bar at 723 New Hope St. Neely and Earle died at the scene. Rattigan was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center, where he died.
Parson ran and later called associates to brag about the shooting, Judd said.
Detectives said the shooting occurred in retaliation for a May 10 fight that involved Earle and some of Parson's associates.
After the slayings, Parson took a cab from Lakeland to Orlando International Airport, detectives said. There, he booked a flight to Miami and on May 25, flew from Miami to Montego Bay, Jamaica.
