TAMPA - Newark (N.J.) St. Benedict's Prep point guard Dwan McMillan, who signed with the University of South Florida in April, will not attend USF, Coach Stan Heath said.
McMillan, rated the nation's No. 57 point guard by ESPN.com, is still working toward meeting NCAA academic qualifying standards. "I'm disappointed he won't be attending USF," Heath said.
The 6-foot McMillan averaged 17 points, eight assists and five rebounds as a senior at St. Benedict's, ranked No. 2 in USA Today's national rankings.
In other USF news:
•Tarpon Springs defensive end Donnell Engram did not meet NCAA qualifying standards and will attend Pearl River (Miss.) Community College, Pearl River coach Tim Hatten said.
•Wharton tight end Andreas Shields, another USF recruit, will "greyshirt" and delay his enrollment until January.
•Palm Beach Gardens lineman Justin Green, who was told the day before National Signing Day in February he was not approved by USF's academic committee but still held out hope of playing at USF, will not play to USF.
•Cayll Smith, who was coach at Sarasota Riverview from 1977-2002, was named USF's women's basketball director of operations.

Alabama LB Arrested On Drug Charges
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama linebacker Jimmy Johns was arrested on felony drug charges Tuesday and kicked off the team, the latest in a string of off-the-field problems for Coach Nick Saban's squad.
Johns, who moved to defense for his senior year after playing running back and receiver in 2007, was "pretty wide open" selling cocaine to students on and around the University of Alabama campus but tried to hide what he was doing from teammates, police said.
"He didn't want them to know he was involved in it," said Capt. Jeff Snyder of the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force.
Records did not indicate whether Johns had hired a lawyer. He was held at the metro jail with bond set at $120,000.
Saban dismissed Johns from the team almost immediately.
"This type of behavior obviously will not be tolerated and he is no longer a part of our program," he said in a brief statement.
Alabama players have been involved in a series of arrests and off-the-field suspensions, with Saban acknowledging the need for better discipline and judgment earlier this year after two players were arrested within days of each other.
