Man, 51, Charged With Forcing Sex On 14-Year-Old Girl

MANATEE COUNTY — A 51-year-old man is behind bars on charges of molesting a teenage girl and threatening her with violence if she did not comply with his orders, authorities say.

Emmanuel Severe Jr. told Manatee County sheriff's detectives that the sex with the girl was consensual. Severe, however, said he knew what he did was wrong and that he will face consequences for it, according to sheriff's reports.

Severe said he caught the girl watching a pornographic video and that in exchange for not telling the victim's mother, the girl let him inappropriately touch her, authorities reported. Severe said he first molested the girl a year ago.

The victim told detectives that Severe confronted her about inappropriate Web chats and that she was molested by force. The girl said Severe threatened to knock her teeth out if she did not obey him.

The victim's mother drove her to Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton where doctors evaluated her, noting signs of abuse, according to sheriff's reports.
