PINELLAS PARK - A car making an illegal U-turn crossed in front of a public bus Wednesday afternoon, causing a crash that injured nine passengers, police said.
The passengers suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and were taken to four hospitals, a Pinellas Park police report said.
Their names were not immediately available.
Donald White, 48, the driver of the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority bus, declined medical treatment, police said.
Cynthia Hoskin, 34, of Pinellas Park, the driver of the red Acura Integra that made the U-turn, also declined treatment.
Hoskin was driving north about 3:30 p.m. on 49th Street when she started to make a U-turn at 110th Avenue, police said.
Hoskin's car turned into the path of the bus, Sgt. Brian Unmisig said.
The rain at the time did not contribute to the crash, Unmisig said.
