Most Charges Against Largo Doctor Dropped

TAMPA - Five out of nine charges against a Largo physician accused of inappropriately touching his patients have been dropped, according to his defense attorney.
The State Attorney's Office in Pinellas County elected not to pursue five counts of battery and lewd and lascivious molestation against Kayode Sotonwa, said his attorney Peter Sartes.
"There was a herd mentality in this case," Sartes said. He added that the women who accused Sotonwa "were not credible" and the decision is a clear indication that the allegations on the five counts were unfounded.
Three misdemeanor charges of battery and one charge of felony sexual battery are still pending, Sartes said.
Sotonwa "denies these allegations and looks forward to proving his innocence on these counts as well," a statement from Sartes' law firm said.
Sotonwa, 42, was arrested April 17, accused by Largo police of molesting or fondling four patients. He was again arrested April 24 on charges involving additional victims, two of whom are children, investigators said.
