PORT RICHEY - Got guns?

Short of cash to fill your gas tank or tummy?

Well, you might be in luck.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is sponsoring a Gun Buy Back from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Jasmine Lakes Civic Association, 7137 Jasmine Blvd.

All firearms, including handguns, rifles and shotguns, will be accepted. In exchange, owners will receive a $25 gift certificate for gas, Wal-Mart or Publix. One card per person will be distributed.

"The Pasco Sheriff's Office takes in a lot of guns that people no longer want," sheriff's office spokesman Kevin Doll said. "It's just one way to allow citizens to come in and return any guns they don't want so we can get them, basically, off the streets or out of homes where they're not wanted."

All firearms should be unloaded prior to arrival. Any unwanted ammunition also will be accepted.

Collected firearms and ammunition will be destroyed.
