TAMPA - During a traffic stop Wednesday morning, a Tampa man reversed his vehicle toward Officer Jesse Madsen's patrol car, forcing the officer to "take evasive action to avoid a collision," a police report states.
The man, 26-year-old John Adams McDonald, sped off, and two officers pursued him, according to the report. The chase was called off, and McDonald and his vehicle were spotted moments later in Robles Park.
He was arrested without incident at 9:25 a.m.
McDonald, of 3602 E. Mohawk Ave., was charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and one count each of fleeing to elude, driving with a canceled, suspended or revoked license, reckless driving, attaching a tag not assigned to the vehicle and operating an unregistered auto.
He was in Orient Road Jail this morning. His bail was set at $23,500.
