HUDSON - A third man was arrested in connection with a May 14 home invasion during which several women and children were held at gunpoint.
Lamont "Montana" Gaynor, 20, of 313 Continental Drive in Brooksville, was charged Wednesday with armed home invasion and aggravated assault. He was in the Land O' Lakes Jail on Thursday, with bail set at $60,000 in the Pasco case. He also is facing charges in Hernando County and is being held without bail in that case.
According to Pasco County Sheriff's Office reports, Gaynor was one of three men who broke into a home at 15509 Turtle Lane through a window. The intruders grabbed the two children inside and demanded money.
The men fired guns into two television sets before leaving. No one was shot, but one woman was injured, sheriff's officials said.
According to a report, Gaynor told investigators he pointed a gun at a 2-year-old's head because he "wanted to." He also admitted to firing shots in the residence, reports said.
A friend or neighbor of the victims followed the robbers on a motorcycle but was stopped for speeding by Deputy Matthew Kadel. The motorcyclist told the deputy about the home invasion, and Kadel reported the incident, called for backup and drove to the Turtle Lane home.
A vehicle license plate number passed along by someone in the home led deputies to the first two suspects: Devin Lamm, 21, and Nicholas Bernhardt, 19. Both were at the Land O' Lakes Jail on Thursday, held in connection with the home invasion and other unrelated charges.
