Deputies Say Man Sexually Assaulted Minor

A 30-year-old Tampa man was arrested last night for grabbing a 17-year-old by his belt loop, pulling him behind a building and performing a sex act against the victim's will, according to deputies.

The incident took place shortly after 7 p.m. outside of 2010 148th Ave., #24 in Tampa, according to a criminal report affidavit, which describes the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office version of what happened:

Bobby Barner, of 5612 87th St. in Tampa, pulled the victim by his belt loop behind the building. Barner then unzipped the teen's pants, pulled out his penis against the teen's will and performed a sex act.

A witness then walked around the corner, saw the victim on his knees trying to push Barner away.

Barner was arrested and charged with unlawful sexual act with a minor, a felony and battery, a misdemeanor. He is being held at the Orient Road Jail on $8,000 bond, according to jail records.
