Joel "Joker" Childers may think twice about borrowing a car with tinted windows.
Yesterday afternoon, he was stopped by a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputy near the intersection of 13th St. N.E. and Atlantic Drive in Ruskin because the windows in his friend's 2001 blue Volkswagen were too darkly tinted, according to a criminal report affidavit.

Childers told the deputy his license was suspended.
After being placed in custody, Childers consented to a search of the VW.
The deputy found a bag of marijuana and a scale were recovered from his right side pocket. The deputy also found 15 oxycodone pills and a bag of powdered cocaine. Childers was carrying 7.6 grams of cocaine and 2.1 grams of marijuana, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spokesman J. D. Callaway.
He was had $1,900 in cash that was seized, Callaway said.
Childers told deputies that he borrowed the car, that the money – 19 one-hundred-dollar bills - belonged to his mother and his sister, that he only uses marijuana and that he was carrying the scale so he didn't get ripped off by dealers, Callaway said.
Aside from finding the drugs and money, the deputy found out that Childers is a certified member of the Latin Kings. He also has convictions for robbery, burglary, grand theft and grand theft auto.
Childers was charged with one count each of possession of cocaine, marijuana, oxycodone, and possession with the intention of delivery. He was released on a $41,500 bond at 3:43 a.m., according to jail records.
