SHOT OF THE DAY

Patricia Meunier-Lebouc of Dijon, France, hit her tee shot on the 164-yard, par-3 No. 12 into the hole for the 20th recorded hole-in-one in U.S. Women's Open history.

Meunier-Lebouc described the shot as "a beautiful 7-iron that landed on the green, about five paces from the hole and rolled slowly in."

HOLE OF THE DAY

The par-5 second hole was set up to play at a reachable-in-two 473 yards for the purpose of creating some action.

It worked.

The hole produced three eagles Friday, interestingly two of them coming from unrelated Angela Park and Inbee Park.

WORDS OF WISDOM

"My family lives by the golf course, so we always had parties at my house. When I was 15, 14, we used to play like at 2 o'clock, into the middle of the night."

- Minea Blomqvist, noting that during summer months her Finnish homeland enjoys extended daylight hours
