Mom To Son: 'Get Me A Knife So I Can Stab My Former Lover'

PALMETTO- A Palmetto woman fighting outside with her ex-boyfriend asked her 6-year-old boy to go into the house and fetch a steak knife that she used to stab the man in the chest and hand Saturday night.
Authorities say the mother, Brittney Lovette, 22, stabbed Keith Paige in the driveway of her home on the 3100 block of 8th Avenue East at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday.
Paige, who does not live there, stopped by to give Lovette money to pay for haircuts for their children, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's report.
Lovette and Paige were arguing when the boy came out with the knife his mother asked him to get, deputies reported.
Lovette also threatened Paige's friend, saying she was going to throw a brick at her vehicle, according to the report.
Witnesses and Paige told responding deputies that Lovette ran inside with her four children, and she was found hiding with them in a closet.
Lovette, of Palmetto, is charged with domestic aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. A sheriff''s report on the matter did not indicate the extent of the injuries suffered by Paige.
