Two people were treated at local hospitals after a crash on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard late Sunday that investigators say was alcohol-related.
Clearwater police still are investigating the wreck, which occurred at 11:07 p.m. They released these details:
David Williamson, 48, whose address was unavailable, was driving a 2005 Land Rover eastbound on the Courtney Campbell Parkway when he made a U-turn near the boat ramp on the Hillsborough County side of the causeway and headed west.
The Land Rover drove off the roadway several times near the county line, at one point striking two speed-limit signs, police said. One of the signs became pinned to the front of the Land Rover.
In the 3100 block of Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard, Williamson crossed into the eastbound traffic, striking a 2003 Honda Civic driven by Deborah Clingan, 54.
Police said the drivers' injuries are not considered life-threatening. Charges are pending.
