TAMPA - Hillsborough County deputies are looking for a man who tried to rob two Tampa banks Saturday but ran away before he got any cash.
Authorities say the man went to Bank of America at 10301 N. Dale Mabry Highway at 9:25 a.m. and gave the teller a note demanding money but left before he got any, sheriff's spokeswoman Vida Morgan said.
The same man went to Washington Mutual Bank at 2802 E. Fletcher Ave. at 10:39 a.m. and again presented a note to a teller and left without money, Morgan said.
The would-be robber is Hispanic, 35 to 45 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He has a shaved head and had a light beard and mustache. He had dark sunglasses perched atop his head and was wearing a short-sleeved flannel shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
Anyone with information should call the sheriff's office at (813) 247-8200 or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477.
