CLEARWATER - CLEARWATER - CLEARWATER - In their increasingly bitter divorce, Linda and Terry Bollea have accused each other of using their teenage son as a go-between, causing him to become withdrawn.
In a Feb. 22 motion, Linda Bollea asked Pinellas Pasco Circuit Judge George Greer to prohibit her husband from discussing the divorce with their son, Nick, 17.
In a Feb. 26 motion, Terry Bollea filed his own countermotion, essentially asking Greer to stop her from the same type of discussions.
A. J. Barranco, Linda's attorney, said the Bolleas have resolved the issue, and that Greer had signed off on a general document that says both parties have agreed on how to proceed with the issue involving their son, as well as other matters.
The document, however, doesn't spell out the terms of the agreement, and Barranco would not discuss the details. Terry Bollea's attorney, Ann Kerr, did not immediately return a telephone call.
In her filing, Linda Bollea says that after she stopped receiving phone calls from her husband, who wrestled professionally under the name Hulk Hogan, he would have their son call and then hand the phone to his father.
In the Feb. 26 motion, Terry Bollea accused his wife of using Nick Bollea as a messenger, too.
In her motion, Linda Bollea also accused her husband of discussing the divorce with their son, with instructions that he not pass on any information to his mother. This has caused Nick Bollea to become withdrawn and conflicted while in the presence of his mother, she stated.
The motion also states that Terry Bollea has discussed in detail with his son what Bollea thinks are good reasons for selling the family's $7.2 million Clearwater home. Linda Bollea is currently living there with Nick, and does not wish to sell the property.
"The Husband has ... told the minor child that that the sale of the marital home will ensure the best result with regard to the minor child's pending criminal case, as well as the Husband's anticipated personal injury lawsuit," the motion says.
Nick Bollea was charged with reckless driving involving serious bodily injury after a wreck Aug. 26 that left his passenger, John Graziano, with a serious brain injury. Graziano remains hospitalized; his family has indicated there might be a lawsuit.
In his filing, Terry Bollea accuses his wife of "highly emotional and degrading outbursts as well as ... derogatory descriptions of the Husband in the presence of the minor child."
Barranco said that after Linda Bollea filed her motion the issue was resolved, but then Terry Bollea filed his motion in an apparent move to get Terry Bollea's voice heard on the issue. "Their side of the case is handled by public relations experts, not lawyers," Barranco said.

It just goes to show the more fame and money you get the more dis functional you become to society. I wish people who are in the limelight would try to live like normal human beings.
It does suck to see a kid get dragged into the middle of a spousal argument though.

Dear momma and dada Bollea, nice try but it'll take a whole hell of a lot more than that to get anyone to muster up any sympathy for that little jerk you raised. Or, to put it more precisly, cut the crap, we all knew you were lousy parents to start with!

Nice try ..trying to put Nick in the sympathy chair will not work for this public...although I think it is time he gets dragged around a bit for the Marines sake..maybe jail time is just what he needs to be away from his family sharade.. Nick withdrawn...if you call hanging out on Miami beach on Feb 22 and seen on Clearwater beach at a sushi bar the week before being withdrawn... He is going on with his life unfortuately it is not the same case with John.

They think we (the public) are too stupid to see through this smoke screen. Nick didn't do something once just for kicks. He had a bad habit of speeding and racing on the streets wherein he put my kids and your lives into danger whenever in the heck he chose to. Because it is a proven fact that he has this habit (his driving record). It was not just an accident, it was gross negligence. Therefore all of daddy's money is up for grabs and I hope they get it all! Parents are legally responsible for the kids actions.
They will try to play games with the house and all the money. Too late cause there's a paper trail with the $.
I hope the parents of all teen drivers have used this as an example for their kids. It's just not worth it to drive like an idiot.

Where does the acting start and the family stop? Nothing was wrong with this family on the TV show; all smiles and seemingly happy family. Now, she's leaving to hide the money, and daddy's not the tough guy we've seen wrestling. Has anyone mentioned where the "kid" got the booze?? When I got my Florida license I had to sign that alcohol testing could/would be done if in an accident with injury. Sweep it under the rug with Hillary's lost Whitewater papers and the rest of the rich's errors. United States spends more to keep inmates than some older Americans live on. Where's this madness going????

Speed up the legal process and incarcerate this group. I hope the Bollea's are covering the cost of John Graziano's care at the VA. John earned his VA care, but no Marine would want public funds to be used when there is another option to cover the costs of their care. Truly, there is no loyalty like that of a Marine.

I believe they need to increase the age requirement to obtain a driver's license to 18. Kids are just not responsible enough at 15 and 16 years old. They rarely consider the consequences of their decisions. And, unfortunately, most don't truly comprehend the finality of the situation until tragedy strikes.

He has provided her with SUCH a lavish lifestyle for the last, what, 20 years, and in the wake of their son's tragic accident, just when he needs her most, she bails on him. I think that's pretty darn selfish of her. I don't mean to insinuate that money is everything... 'Cause it's certainly not. And I'm not saying that he was the perfect husband... Each person has his or her own flaws. It was just really bad timing on her part. Also, I think she should have been woman enough to tell him she was leaving, instead of letting him get blind-sided by a phone call from a journalist.

Sadly, it’s the children who incur the brunt of the proverbial storm through this ordeal. Especially Nick… Granted, he made a MAJOR error in judgment, and I’m certainly NOT vindicating his detrimental decisions. Still, he’s only a boy, and I’m quite sure he needs the security of a supportive, tight-knit family. Instead of sticking together, the family is tearing itself apart, and apparently, Nick is in the middle. No parent should EVER trash-talk the other parent in the presence of his or her child, no matter what the circumstances. Alas, this is yet ANOTHER example of the poor parenting skills of the rich and famous.

acarr...John's care at the VA Hospital should be fully covered. The injury doesn't have to be service-connected. If he served in a war, and later becomes too disabled to work, even if it's not service-connected, he should be 100 percent covered. Thank goodness. There are some benefits the country does provide for people willing to protect our country. If you served, but not in a war, then you are not covered except for service-connected injuries. I know this because I'm a non-service connected disabled vet. I wasn't in during time of war, so I only get service-connected payments and free treatment for the specific service-connected disabilities. John should be getting full VA disability payments plus free hospital, meds, etc. He should also get a lot of benefits for home care, as well.
Does that answer your question?

I don't understand why people want bad things to happen to this family. Nick used terrible judgement and should be held responsible for his actions, but I doubt he meant to hurt anyone. He is just a kid. Accidents happen every day. The Graziano family seems more forgiving than the people on here. Will putting him in prison and taking all of their money away make things better for anyone? My goodness people, I hope that if anything bad ever happens to your family that people are more supportive and understanding of you.
