TAMPA - Two morning radio personality heavyweights could square off in court in a lawsuit filed against Bubba the Love Sponge Clem by Todd Schnitt, who hosts the "MJ Morning Show."
Schnitt and his wife, Michelle, filed the lawsuit in Hillsborough County Circuit Court, accusing Clem of making defamatory remarks about the couple on his morning radio show, broadcast on WHPT, 102.5 FM.
Todd Schnitt
Among Clem's allegations are that Todd Schnitt was stealing money and that Michelle Schnitt had been unfaithful to her husband.
Schnitt's morning program is broadcast on WFLZ, 93.3 FM.
The lawsuit was filed after attorneys for the couple asked that Clem apologize for the remarks.
A similar request was made this month by attorneys for Mark Lunsford. Lunsford is the father of Jessica Lunsford, who was kidnapped, raped and killed in Citrus County.
Clem began criticizing Mark Lunsford after he filed his intent to sue the Citrus County Sheriff's Office over the agency's handling of his daughter's kidnapping.
Lunsford claimed deputies should have found his daughter before she was buried alive.

Clem is a scumbag and should shut his stupid mouth. Relegate him to satellite where only his loyal paying ilk will receive his idiocy.

Every person that I have ever met that has recommended Clem to me is Tampa Wal-Mart-idiot trash. I love Tampa Bay, but this guy could only be popular in a market that has more than its fair-share of toothless trailer trash.

Its funny to read all these comments about Bubba. How stupid we are, toothless, white trash. I am none of these but listen everyday. I am also smart enough not to call others, whom I do not know, names and know how to change a channel. Hell, I could teach a monkey to do that.

How hypocritical of MJ ...I listen to his show alot and enjoy and sometimes I think he steps over the bounds of good taste when "razzing"people...I always thought he was the better of the two (Clem and M.J.)but with this law suit,,he's sorta done himself in with me.....Good luck to Buuba...and to M.J.maybe you should look at yourself and this situation and revise the way you do your own show because, with the exception of some of the vulgarity and more r-rated routines, your methods are no different than Bubba's

The Sponge is a ** coward **. He knifed a hog as a stunt on his show for ratings. When he went to trial, he hid behind the notion that he was demonstrating the proper way to kill a hog.
Satelite Radio takes absoutely no thought to say something provactive and funny. M.J. proves that his is both funny, provactive and intelligent 6 hours a day on F.M and A.M.
Go Todd!!!

I hate to say it but Bubba is far more entertaining and talented than M.J. I think M.J.'s doing this because Bubba has once again taken all of M.J.'s listeners. Even though Bubba gets on my nerves at least half of the time, it's better than being put to sleep by no talent hacks like M.J.

What a little twerp. Who sues someone and starts all this publicity then goes on vacation? The midgit sues then runs...just like a chicken.
MJ, you suck. Sue me! Go ahead and try it tough guy. I'm suprised he doesn't need to sit on a phone book or tape blocks to his feet to reach the peddals of his Corvette.

Both of these idiots have an ego bigger than the state of Florida and thinks they are smarter than everyone. I do think if you're a public figure that bases your show on making fun of people (both shows do), then you are subject to people making fun of you. The lawsuit is ridiculous. How about if everyone MJ called a moron sued him?

I had never heard of Bubba until I stumbled on his show recently. WHAT A MORON! He is rude, arrogant, and ovrall a hideous pig! He does not deserve to be on the air. He has nothing else to talk about except ATTACKING other people. He is a waste of airspace and I would rather listen to "smooth jazz" then to his ignorant blabber. As for MJ, he needs to remember that he is better than him and no one is taking seriously what that waste of space is talking about. I certainly would not put any credence in what "Bubba" says - he is just white trash that needs to be taken out to the curb!

I used to listen to Bubba, but then got tired of the hookers, sex toys, and the general crap that he dealt in and now deals in again with the accusations against Lunsford and MJ - whose next, Mother Theresa???? I cannot believe another area radio station put Bubba back on the air. I listen to MJ in the am and pm. I agree that MJ sometimes pushes a little too hard with people, but you dont have to worry about someone having an orgasm on air, or sex toys being whipped out. Bubba is only looking to boost his ratings since he came back. I personally will not listen to his show ever. I very much hope that MJ and Michelle prevail with their lawsuit and another radio station has to pay yet another fine for Bubba's comments and actions.

Unlokit: I completely agree with you! Clem is a trashy pig. And kids like leo16 shouldn't be listening to him. How do I know he's a kid? I don't, I just thought either that or a very low I.Q. Probably the I.Q......like all of clem's listeners.

Gigi1182, I think you're wrong. People do care because these two are on our radios.
As far as Bubba goes, I know majority of (smart) people don't like him. Myself included. But the good thing about free will is that you don't have to listen. With that said, I don't like Bubba but I think he has every right to do what he does.
As far as MJ goes, I am actually really glad that he has finally shown his true colors. Hopefully Clear Channel will wake up and dump him and give Fester and Froggy the morning slot.

Come on be serious, does it really surprise anyone that on the listing of States, with the number of graduating high school students, Florida is one of those at the bottom and Tampa, the home of Hillsborough Community College which graduates only 19% of its students, that these 2 "Radio Jocks" have a faithful listening audience?

ad...Why the slam on HCC? I graduated from there prior to transferring to USF. I have never listened to either of these morning programs, because I find their subject matter to be inappropriate.
Let's remember that the city of Tampa was recently recognized for its high number of strip clubs, in a national magazine. That could explain the interest in Bubba's show. They share the same audience, no doubt.

"marlborodude", just to let you know, "Bain Capital" is Mitt Romney's company.
As Clear Channel is just another bastion of Conservative radio, it fits right in with WHNZ and WFLA.

Well, I have never listened to Bubba; but used to be a faithful listener of the MJ Morning Show. After The Steve Harvey Morning Show came to our market, I never turned back to MJ. 95.7 is the best station to listen to in the morning. Steve Harvey is number one in all of his markets. He has millions of listeners across the country. Do yourself a favor and tune in to "95.7 The Beat". You'll never go back to the childish radio pranks with MJ and his morons.

Bubba is doing to MJ nothing more than MJ does everyday to many many public figures, If MJ can't take the heat he should stay out of the kitchen and all you haters have to do is change the channel, seems that the people that hate bubba the most listen the most !!

Oh and by the way, I am college educated, have an excellent job, live in a house, think for myself and don't shop at walmart.
And to set the record straight Bubba never killed or "knifed" a hog, it was killed by a professional hunter, just like all the hogs that are killed every day so you can have bacon and pork chops.People should know the truth befre they go making false accusations.
