MIAMI - Ag-Mart Produce has settled a lawsuit with a farmworker couple whose baby was born without limbs after the mother worked in the company's tomato fields.
Harry Costello, an outside spokesman for Ag-Mart, said the Plant City-based company had not decided whether to comment on the confidential agreement.
The couple say they worked for Ag-mart before and during the pregnancy. They and others testified the company sprayed pesticides while they were in the fields. They also said managers did not wait after spraying before sending workers back into the fields.
