LARGO A Pinellas County Utilities worker was arrested today on charges he used his ex-wife's identity to subscribe to DirecTV, according to the Pinellas Sheriff's Office.
He also used his dental plan, which was in his ex-wife's name, to obtain dental coverage for his current girlfriend, sheriff's officials said.
Scott M. Moore, 38, of Palm Harbor, faces one count of criminal use of personal information, or identity theft. The utilities inspector was taken into custody this morning at the utilities' general maintenance building at 6720 142nd Ave. in Largo.
Detectives began looking into Moore's activities on Feb. 26, when Moore's ex-wife, who lives in Middleborough, Mass., started receiving bills from DirecTV and the dental office, the sheriff's office said.
No other information was available.

Could it possibly be because he is a civil service employee and as such is held to a higher standard. If he cannot be trusted with the "small" things in life, should he be trusted with the public's work. If he is willing to commit one or two identity thefts, why not use it on some of the public that he works for in his job.

o.k dumda$$, you don't use your ex's credentials to entertain and provide care for your new girl. A woman scorned... His occupation is irrelevant and the story isn't newsworthy either but it does remind us that there are idiots among us :>
