TAMPA - Pam Moody has assembled a colorful palette of local artists to display and sell their works at The Creative Native Gallery.
"We're all proud to be Florida natives," said Moody, a Citrus Park resident who spent more than a year transforming a 1940s bungalow into a visual arts showplace that opened last week off Falkenburg Road, west of Brandon.
Works by eight artists who create sculptures, paintings, jewelry, collages and paintings are displayed in each room of the 1,700-square-foot house.
An artist noted for her ceramic sculptures, Moody turned one room in the back of the house into a workshop.
"This is a working gallery," she said. "I tell people, don't be surprised if you come here and you are greeted by a woman in an apron covered in clay. That will be me, and it just means I'm having a great day."
The gallery, 5307 N. Falkenburg Road., is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, and evenings and weekends by appointment. For information, call (813) 841-3038.
