FORT MEADE - Firefighters have contained a 10-acre brush fire off District Line Road and State Road 60 in south-central Polk County, a fire services spokeswoman said.
There are no reports of injuries, Heather McClanahan said.
The fire erupted at a mining salvage yard.
The owner is Dream Lakes Hunting Preserve, and the burn area is leased to Southern Salvage, a mining salvage company, McClanahan reported.
At last word, firefighters primarily were concerned with protecting equipment at the site, McClanahan said.
