Seminole Man Charged With Abusing Young Boy, Girl

TAMPA - A Seminole man took a 2-year-old girl out of the bath tub, held her face down on a couch and struck both sides of her face Thursday, Pinellas County detectives say.

The man also struck a 10-month-old boy on the right ear while changing the boy's diaper Thursday, according to detectives.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office arrested 24-year-old Ryan Kaspick this afternoon.

Kaspick was charged with one count of aggravated child abuse and one count of child abuse.

The children are known to Kaspick, but deputies would not release details of their relationship. The location where the incident occurred also was not made available, as it might identify the victims, deputies say.

"Deputies say that the mother of the children noticed the bruising on the children's ears and initially thought they had ear infections," a sheriff's office release states. "Later that evening she sought medical attention for the children at which point it was determined that the children had been abused."
