These candidates have qualified by Friday's deadline to run for the Tampa Bay area's five congressional seats, according to the state Division of Elections.
5th Congressional District:
•Republicans: Virginia "Ginny" Brown-Waite of Brooksville, the incumbent; Jim King of Land O' Lakes
•Democrats: Carol Castagnero of Lakeland; John Russell of Dade City; H. David Werder of Spring Hill
9th Congressional District
•Republicans: Gus Bilirakis of Palm Harbor, the incumbent
•Democrats: Anita de Palma of Clearwater; John Dicks of Plant City; Bill Mitchell of Carrollwood
•Other: Richard O. Emmons of New Port Richey, of the Term Limits for the U.S. Congress Party; John "Johnny K" Kalimnios of Holiday, no party affiliation; Andrew Pasayan of Holiday, write-in candidate
10th Congressional District
•Republican: C.W. Bill Young of Indian Shores, the incumbent
•Democrats: Samm (Denise) Simpson of Dunedin; Max Linn of St. Petersburg; Bob Hackworth of Dunedin
•Other: Don Callahan of Treasure Island, write-in candidate
11th Congressional District
•Democrat: Kathy Castor of Tampa, the incumbent
•Republican: Eddie Adams Jr. of Tampa
12th Congressional District
•Republican: Adam Putnam of Bartow, the incumbent
•Democrat: Douglas Tudor of Riverview
