Nick Cannon is cast as Mariah Carey's lover in her new video - but has the superstar diva given the young actor a considerably bigger role in real life?

According to several published reports, Carey, 38, married Cannon, 27, on Wednesday. Neither Carey's publicist nor Cannon's manager returned requests from The Associated Press for comment.

If the pair did indeed wed, it would be a whirlwind romance. Word that the two were seeing each other first surfaced in the past few weeks. Last Saturday, Carey was seen sporting a huge diamond ring on her finger at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of her movie "Tennessee," in which she plays a waitress. Cannon was at her side at the party. Speculation swirled that the couple were engaged.

Latina.com was first to report that the two got married, at Carey's home in the Bahamas. Friday's New York Post also had the pair wed, and E! Online quoted a relative of Cannon's as saying that he called his family and confirmed the news.

People magazine's Web site reported Friday that Carey had obtained a marriage license on the island of Eleuthera, in the Bahamas, where she has an estate.

Kanye West Concert Starting Earlier

Kanye West's concert at Ford Amphitheatre in Tampa will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, an hour earlier than previously scheduled, according to promoter Live Nation.

Tom Cruise says his infamous couch-jumping incident on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" was a moment he isn't sure he'd take back.

Cruise recently sat down with Winfrey for an hourlong interview taped at his home in Telluride, Colorado. The 45-year-old actor says his antics three years ago were an authentic way of expressing the love he felt for Katie Holmes, now his wife.

Cruise also talks about his belief in the Church of Scientology.

He says he's been accused of preaching about Scientology. But Cruise says one of its central tenets is to respect the religious beliefs of others.

Navaria Was Intoxicated, Tests Say

Toxicology tests show that Grammy-winning Tejano singer Emilio Navaira was intoxicated when the tour bus he was driving crashed into freeway barrels in suburban Houston in March, authorities said.

The toxicology tests were released this week, and the Houston Chronicle reported the results Thursday night on its Web site. The newspaper also reported that Navaira was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in September 2000.

Navaira was driving his tour bus March 23 when it slammed into the freeway barrels, throwing him through the windshield. Doctors performed two brain surgeries and repaired an aneurysm on his right lung.
