WEST SHORE - Mayor Pam Iorio will host a town hall meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the media center of Westshore Elementary School, 7110 S. West Shore Blvd.
City administrators and department representatives will be available to answer questions.
Aging infrastructure is one of the most important issues to South Tampa residents, said Al Steenson, president of the Gandy Sun Bay South Civic Association.
"I think that will probably come up the most," Steenson said today. "We are getting tired of being treated like redheaded stepchildren."
He applauded the city's Utility Capital Improvement Projects program, but said the effort "should have started years ago."
Wofford Johnson, president of Tampa Homeowners, an Association of Neighborhoods, agreed that infrastructure is a major concern.
"We know it can't be fixed overnight," he said.
Johnson, of Sunset Park, said residents are happy about the city's recent award of a $556,921 contract for installing three sediment and trash traps on stormwater pipes draining into Lake Kipling, near West Shore and Bay to Bay boulevards.
