TAMPA - Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office detectives searched two West Tampa homes Monday and found two marijuana growing operations, according to arrest reports.

Detectives served a search warrant at 7:50 p.m. at 7015 Donald Ave. and found 58 live plants in several rooms set up with lightings, ballasts, timers, fans and carbon filters, the reports state. Deputies also found more than 20 grams of dried marijuana.

At 11 p.m., detectives served a search warrant at 2912 W. Tampa Bay Blvd. and found two rooms being used to grow marijuana, the reports state. There were 70 live plants and equipment similar to what was being used at the Donald Avenue location. A small amount of dried marijuana was found in a bedroom.

Detectives said James F. Monge, 33, had keys to both homes and that the electric utilities were in his name. He was charged with seven drug-related charges, including trafficking and possession of marijuana with intent to sell. He was taken to Orient Road Jail. No bail was set, and he was still there this morning.

Monge lives in the Tampa Bay Boulevard home, according to a jail report. Hillsborough County property records show that home is owned by Christan Morales and that Wilfredo Monge and Pura Migdala Torres-Monge own the Donald Avenue home.
