TAMPA - Firefighters took about 40 minutes tonight to extinguish a blaze the size of a football field in a wooded area in New Tampa, officials said.
No homes were threatened and no one was hurt in the fire just off Cross Creek Boulevard, Tampa Fire Rescue spokesman Jace Kohan said.
Two fire engines, two brush trucks and units from Pasco County Fire Rescue were called to the scene about 8:35 p.m., Kohan said.
