TAMPA - A 30-year-old Tampa woman accused of bilking a bank out of roughly $25,700 pleaded guilty today to fraud, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

Jennifer Lynn Curran faces 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine, attorney's office spokesman Steve Cole said.

According to a plea agreement, Curran committed fraud against the United Services Automobile Association Federal Savings Bank between June 2006 and September 2007.

Prosecutors say Curran was involved in a check kiting scheme, using false deposits and wire transfers to steal money from the bank. Curran fraudulently deposited $95,680, none of which were real deposits, prosecutors said.

She withdrew $25,759.99 from the false deposits before her actions were discovered by Secret Service investigators. Curran committed the scheme while on probation from a prior fraud charge, prosecutors said.
