TAMPA - A truck on eastbound Interstate 4 near Hillsborough Avenue hit a guardrail in the center median this afternoon and is spilling diesel fuel, authorities said.
The crash caused about 40-50 batteries the truck was hauling to scatter on the grassy median. One person is reported hurt, but the extent of the injuries is not yet known.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue and a hazardous materials team is on the scene. Traffic is slowed in both directions but there are no road blocks.
