SAN ANTONIO - Longtime Mayor Roy Pierce can carve another notch in his belt.
Pierce, 58, was re-elected to the office Tuesday night for another one-year term.
A private investigator and former Tampa police detective, Pierce first was elected to the city commission in 1995. He has been elected to serve as mayor every year since then.
Also Tuesday, Commissioner Sharon Madden was elected mayor pro tempore to preside over meetings in Pierce's absence.
Madden was elected to the commission in 1999 and has served five terms.
In San Antonio, the five-member commission decides who will be mayor and mayor pro tem after voters in this east Pasco County city have their say on who will fill the seats.
This year, Commissioners Pierce; Will Plazewski, who was appointed in December to replace Heiskell Christmas; and Richard Gates were automatically re-elected to the board because nobody ran against them.
The two-year terms pay $50 annually; the mayor is paid $100 for the one-year term.
