TAMPA - If you saw smoke billowing from an office building while crossing the Howard Frankland Bridge this morning, don't worry.
It was a drill designed to test reaction to a tornado-caused electrical fire.
You're in good company, though, if you were alarmed: Employees there, at the Aegon Equity Group building, didn't get any warning either. The plan was to make the drill more realistic, emergency services officials said in a written statement released Wednesday.
Pinellas County dispatchers confirmed this morning that all the smoke was for the drill.
The Aegon building, at 570 Carillon Parkway, is in the Carillon Park business complex.
