ST. PETERSBURG - Pinellas County emergency personnel are on the scene of a crash involving an overturned refrigerated semi-truck carrying ice cream in the eastbound lanes of Gandy Boulevard near the Gandy Bridge.
The eastbound lanes of Gandy are expected to be shut down for at least an hour while workers remove the semi from the scene, said St. Petersburg Fire Rescue Lt. Rick Feinberg.
At least three other vehicles also are involved in the accident, which happened about 11:30 a.m. Three people suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital, Feinberg said. Three other people didn't require treatment at the scene, he said.
