USF's Selvie Tapped For Playboy All-America Team

TAMPA - Now University of South Florida fans really can read Playboy magazine for the articles: University of South Florida DE George Selvie was named to Playboy's preseason All-America team.

Selvie and the rest of the Playboy preseason All-America team will be in the magazine's September issue. It will go on sale in newsstands around Aug. 15, Playboy Magazine sports editor Gary Cole said.

Selvie was in Phoenix last weekend for the team photo, the filming of a television program and the awards presentation. And, no, there were not any Playboy bunnies at the photo shoot.

Selvie, USF's first consensus All-American last season, is now also the school's first Playboy All-American. This is the 52nd annual Playboy All-America team and past teams have included players such as QBs Dan Marino, Troy Aikman and Peyton Manning and RB Barry Sanders.

On Monday, Selvie and LB Tyrone McKenzie also were named to the Bronko Nagurski watch list, signifying the best defensive player in college football. Selvie was among five finalists for last year's Nagurski award.
