A 70-year-old Englewood woman was seriously injured Sunday night when a patrol car from the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office ran into the car she was driving.
The Florida Highway Patrol says 24-year-old Ryan Clifton turned on his vehicle's emergency lights and was going to help another officer at a call when he failed to see 70-year-old Beverly Senopole make a left turn in front of him from State Road 776 onto southbound Oriole Boulevard about 9:20 p.m.
Authorities say he hit the right side of her vehicle, pushing the 2001 Chevy Impala toward another patrol car. Senopole's car hit the second patrol car. She was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
