TAMPA - It looks like spring will give us one more shot of nice weather before we start our long summer simmer.
A front that drifted over north Florida and southern Georgia on Sunday should usher dry and slightly cooler air over the Tampa Bay area today, according to the National Weather Service.
The real change should come Tuesday morning, when forecasts call for temperatures to be in the high 50s around Tampa and in the high 40s in Hernando County.
That's a significant swing from mornings that have hovered in the high 60s or low 70s with a distinctly humid feel.
The lower temperatures also could produce some fog about dawn Tuesday that could linger an hour or so after sunrise.
Even the high temperature expected today will be down to the lower 80s, a shift of close to 10 degrees from the past days.
Humidity will be decidedly lower today and tonight.
It won't last long, though. Temperatures and humidity will begin climbing Tuesday, though the morning low for Wednesday should be slightly cooler than what we've been seeing.
By Wednesday afternoon, temperatures and humidity should be back to near-summertime levels and stay there through the weekend.
